The “Active status” feature lets your friends and contacts know when you are active, recently active, or currently engaged in the same conversation as them.
This feature is enabled by default. If you prefer, you can turn it off.
Remember, the steps below only turn off the active status to which you’re applying. Let’s look at how to do it on PC, Android, and iPhone.
Turn Off Active Status on Facebook and Messenger
Sign in to your Facebook account.
In the right sidebar, you’ll see three horizontal dots next to “Contacts.”
Hit “Active Status: (On or Off).” The On or Off represents the status of the active status feature.
To turn off the active status, disable the first switch. Hit the Save button and that’s it.
Active Status: Off for some option is for keeping the active status disabled but enabling it for some people only. Active Status: On for some is for keeping the active status on but having it off for some people only.
If you prefer to use any of the above, first you need to click on the Edit option beside it. Choose the one you prefer and click on the Save button. Now select the option and hit the Save button.
To enable the active status, follow the steps above and enable the first switch. Make sure to click on the Save button too.
