How to Add Run to Windows 10 Start Menu, Taskbar or Desktop

Add Run as Start Menu Tile or Taskbar Shortcut

Click the Start button.

Type run. You’ll notice the “Pin to Start” and “Pin to taskbar” options on the right pane.

If you want the Run to appear as a tile in the Start menu, click Pin to Start.

If you want the Run Command shortcut in the taskbar, click “Pin to taskbar.”

Launch the Run dialog box. Then press the “Enter” key after entering shell:programs.

Find the shortcut “Run” in the folder “Windows System.”

Copy the shortcut.

Click “Programs” in the address bar.

In the Programs folder, paste the shortcut.

How to Create a Windows 10 Desktop Shortcut for the Run Command

Drag and drop “Run” to the desktop if it already exists as a Start menu tile.

Alternative Methods

Method #1

Open the Start menu.

You will see the Open file location option when you type run. Click on it.

Click “Copy” after right-clicking on the Run shortcut.

Insert the shortcut on the desktop.

That’s all.

Method #2

Right-click on the blank area of the desktop.

Move the mouse over New. Hit Shortcut.

Type explorer shell:::{2559a1f3-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0} and press Next.

You can change the shortcut name if you wish, and then click Finish.
