How to Make Only Admins Can Send Messages in Telegram

By default, any participant can send messages to the Telegram group.

Follow the steps below to allow only admins to send messages in the group.

Remember that you need to be a group admin to follow the steps in this guide.

Let’s see how to do this. I use the app (iPhone and Android), Web, and Desktop.

Here are the steps:

  1. Open the Telegram app.
  2. Tap the group chat and then its name at the top.

  4. Select “Permissions” between Reactions and Invite Links.
  5. Disable the “Send Messages” option if you don’t want the members to send messages.
