How to Turn Off Autoplay on YouTube (Android, iPhone, and PC)

YouTube autoplay feature automatically plays the next video once the current video play finishes. This one is the default.

You can cancel the autoplay if you want. I use Windows 11 PC, iPhone (iOS 15.1), and Pixel 4a (Android 12).

Let’s start.

Android or iPhone

Here are the steps to disable YouTube autoplay on Android or iPhone:

  1. Open the YouTube app.
  2. Hit your profile picture in the top right.
  3. Select Settings > Autoplay.
  4. Turn off the “Autoplay next video.”

That’s all. You can turn on autoplay at any time by turning on the toggle switch mentioned above.

Here are a couple of alternative ways to do the above tasks:

Method #1

In the YouTube app, tap your profile picture at the top right.

Hit Time watched. Now you can see the toggle switch beside “Autoplay next video.”

Please turn it on (to enable) or off (to disable).

Method #2

You can see the autoplay toggle switch in the video you’re watching. Please turn it off.

That’s it. You can enable autoplay at any time by turning on the toggle switch.
