How to Add Cast Icon to Edge Toolbar

In this post, you’ll see three different ways to add a Cast icon to the Edge toolbar. Let’s get started.

Method #1

Open Edge.

Hit the three horizontal dots at the top right.

Hover your mouse over More tools.

Hit the “Cast media to device” option.

Now right-click on the Cast icon in the toolbar.

You can see the Always show icon option. Enable it.

That’s it.

Note: You can remove the Cast icon by right-clicking on the Cast icon and disabling the above mentioned option.

Method #2

Launch local group policy editor.

Navigate to the Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Edge > Cast.

Then double-click “Show the cast icon in the toolbar” in the right pane.

Select Enabled.

Hit the OK button.

That’s all.

Note: To remove it, follow the steps above but select Disabled. If you want the default, choose Not Configured.

Method #3

Open Registry Editor. I suggest a Registry backup before proceeding.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Edge.

Right-click on the blank space in the right pane.

Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Type ShowCastIconInToolbar and then hit the Enter key.

Double-click it and provide 1 in the Value data field.

Hit the OK button.

That’s it.

Note: To remove it, provide 0 in the Value data field of the DWORD. For default, delete the DWORD you created earlier.
