How to Change Default Shell of Windows Terminal

Windows Terminal’s default shell is Windows PowerShell.

This guide is for you if you wish to change it. Let’s see how to do it on Windows 10.

Start the Run dialog box by pressing Windows + R. Type wt and then press Enter.

In Windows Terminal, click the down arrow at the top.

Click Settings.

You can now see the Default profile drop-down list in the Startup section. Click it to open it.

The available options are: Windows PowerShell, Command Prompt, and Azure Cloud Shell.

Choose the one you prefer.

Hit the Save button at the bottom.

That’s all.
