By default, the WhatsApp app is on the language of your device.
This guide is for you if you prefer to change the WhatsApp language on an Android phone or iPhone.
Remember that the below steps only change the interface language.
Change Language on WhatsApp (Android)
The below steps change only the language of WhatsApp.
Here are the steps:
Open the WhatsApp Messenger app on your device.
Hit the three vertical dots at the top right corner and select Settings.
Tap App Language between Keep chats archived and Chat backup.
The Phone’s language option is for setting the device’s language as the WhatsApp language.
If you prefer to choose a language different from your device’s, select the one you like from the popup.
The above steps do not apply to all since not everyone has the above option. If you’re one of them, follow these steps. But remember that the below steps will change the language of both WhatsApp and the Android device.
Open the Settings app and hit System.
Select Languages & input > Languages.
Tap Add a language and select the one you prefer.
Drag the two horizontal lines beside the language you added and drop it in the first place.
That’s it. Open the WhatsApp app and see the change.
Change WhatsApp App Language (iPhone)
On iPhone, change your device language, which will reflect in WhatsApp. Here’s how:
Open the Settings app and select General.
Tap Language & Region and iPhone Language.
Pick a language you want and hit the “Change to (language you’ve chosen)” option.
That’s it. Open the WhatsApp Messenger app and see the change.
