How to Turn On or Off Google Chrome Dark Mode

In this post, you’ll see the steps to turn dark mode on and off in Google Chrome.

I use Windows 11 PC, iPhone (iOS 15.2), and Google Pixel 4a (Android 12). Let’s start.

How to Enable or Disable Dark Mode in Google Chrome (PC)

To enable the dark theme in the Chrome browser, you need to enable dark mode in Windows 11.

Note: Disable Windows 11 dark mode to disable Google Chrome’s dark theme.

How to Turn On or Off Chrome Dark Mode (Android)

You can enable dark mode for the Chrome app, and here’s how:

Open the Google Chrome app.

Hit the three vertical dots at the top right.

Select Settings > Theme.

Choose Dark, and that’s all.

Notes:

  • To disable dark mode, follow the steps above but choose “Light.”
  • The “System default” option applies the dark theme to Chrome only when the device is in dark mode, or Battery Saver is on.
  • Alternate method: To activate dark mode on the Chrome app, you need to activate dark mode on Android. Disable dark mode on Android to disable the dark theme on the Chrome app.

How to Turn On or Off Chrome Dark Mode (iPhone)

The Chrome app is in dark mode if your iPhone is in the dark theme.

Chrome will not have a dark theme if your iPhone is not in dark mode.

That’s it.

I hope this guide, “How to Turn On or Off Google Chrome Dark Mode,” is helpful to you.
