How to Customize Notification Area

The Windows 10 notification area is found on the right side of the taskbar and contains system icons and other icons.

In this post, you will learn how to customize the notification area in Windows 10. Let’s get started.

Hide or Display System Icons in the Notification Area

Open the taskbar settings.

Click the “Turn system icons on or off” link in the “Notification area” section.

Click the toggle switch next to the system icon you want to hide or show. Remember, blue means that it will appear.

Hide or Display Icons in the Notification Area

Start the taskbar settings. 

Under the “Notification area” section, click “Select which icons appear on the taskbar.”

Click the toggle switch next to the one you want to show or hide. Remember, blue means that it will appear.

Hide or Display All Activated Icons in the Notification Area

If you want all the icons to appear in the notification area, follow the steps below.

Open the taskbar settings. 

Hit on “Select which icons appear on the taskbar.”

Activate the toggle button under “Always show all icons in the notification area.” Blue indicates enabled.

Notes:

The “Show hidden icons” (up arrow) next to the notification area icons shows hidden notification area icons.

Drag one of these icons into the notification area to display it.

Drag the icon to “Show hidden icons” (up arrow) to hide it from the notification area.
