How to Disable File Explorer Command Bar in Windows 11

You can see the command bar at the Windows 11 File Explorer top.

Disable it if you don’t want, and remember that you can see the ribbon on the top of File Explorer when you turn it off.

Here are the steps:

Open Command Prompt.

Type the following command and press Enter key.

Here’s the command: reg add “HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{d93ed569-3b3e-4bff-8355-3c44f6a52bb5}\InprocServer32” /f /ve

Now restart the File Explorer or PC.

That’s all. You can see the change in the File Explorer now.

You need to execute this command in Command Prompt to revert: reg delete “HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{d93ed569-3b3e-4bff-8355-3c44f6a52bb5}” /f

Here’s an alternate method to disable the command bar:

Launch Registry Editor. I suggest Registry backup before proceeding.

Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Classes > CLSID.

Right-click on the CLSID and select New > Key. provide {d93ed569-3b3e-4bff-8355-3c44f6a52bb5} as name and hit Enter key.

Now right click on {d93ed569-3b3e-4bff-8355-3c44f6a52bb5} and select New > Key.

Provide InprocServer32 as name and press Enter key.

Double-click on the Default on the right and hit the OK button.

Restart the File Explorer or PC.

That’s all.

To enable the command bar, all you need to do is deleting the {d93ed569-3b3e-4bff-8355-3c44f6a52bb5} key.
