How to Disable InPrivate Browsing Mode on Edge

In this post, you’ll see two different ways to disable InPrivate browsing on Edge. Let’s get started.

Method #1

Launch local group policy editor.

Navigate to the Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Edge.

Then double-click “Configure InPrivate mode availability” in the right pane.

Select Enabled.

From the drop-down list, choose InPrivate mode disabled.

Hit the OK button.

That’s all.

Note: To enable InPrivate browsing mode, follow the steps above but choose Not Configured.

Method #2

Open the Registry Editor. Before proceeding, I recommend backing up your Registry.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Edge.

Right-click on the blank space in the right pane.

Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Press the Enter key after typing InPrivateModeAvailability.

Double-click it and then provide 1 in the Value data field.

Hit the OK button.

That’s it.

Note: Delete the DWORD you created earlier to enable InPrivate browsing.
