How to Disable Screen Saver in Windows 10

In this post, you’ll learn how to disable the screen saver in Windows 10

Please note that the following methods gray out the screen saver settings. Let’s begin.

Method #1

Launch local group policy editor.

Navigate to the User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization.

Then double-click “Enable screen saver” in the right pane.

Select Disabled.

Hit the OK button.

That’s all.

Note: In order to enable it, follow the above steps but select Enabled or Not Configured.

Method #2

Launch Registry Editor. Before proceeding, I suggest taking a backup of the Registry.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Windows > Control Panel > Desktop.

Remember that any above mentioned keys you don’t see need to be created.

Right-click on the blank space in the right pane.

Select New > String Value.

Type ScreenSaveActive and then hit the Enter key.

Double-click it and provide 0 in the Value data field.

Hit the OK button.

That’s all.

Note: To enable screen saver, follow the above steps but replace 0 with 1 or remove the String Value you created above.
