How to Add Disk Cleanup to the Right-Click Menu

You can add Disk Cleanup to the drive’s right-click menu in Windows 11. Let’s see how.

Add Disk Cleanup to the Right-Click Menu

Here are the steps:

Open the Registry Editor. Before proceeding, I suggest that you back up the Registry.

Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > Drive > shell.

Right-click on the shell key. Choose New > Key—hit Enter key after typing diskcleanup.

Double-click on Default in the right pane.

You may enter any name in the Value data field. I’ll give Disk Cleanup in this instance. Keep in mind that the name of the option you see in the context menu is this.

Hit the OK button.

Then right-click the diskcleanup key you made earlier. Select New > Key.

Provide the name as “command” (without double quotes) and press the Enter key.

Double-click on Default in the right pane. In the Value data field, enter cleanmgr.exe /d %1

Hit the OK button.

That’s all. Now, right-click the drive on your PC and hit Show more options to see the change.

Note: If you want to remove the option, you need to delete the diskcleanup key.
