How to Remove Frequently Contacted in WhatsApp

Written by Thirumalraj

In this post, you’ll see how to delete frequently contacted and recent chats on WhatsApp.

I use Android and iPhone here. Let’s start.

How to Delete Frequently Contacted and Recent Chats on WhatsApp

On the “Forward to” screen (the screen you see while forwarding), you’ll notice:

  • “My status” option.
  • “Frequently contacted” section.
  • “Recent chats” section.
  • The “Other contacts” section (contains all your WhatsApp contacts, except the ones in the “Recent chats” and “Frequently contacted” sections). You can only find this on Android.

Let’s see two ways to delete “Frequently contacted” on WhatsApp:

  • Clearing the chat (contact or group) removes it from the “Frequently contacted” list. However, it will appear in the “Recent chats” section. This one is the case for both Android and iPhone.
  • Deleting the contact chat removes it from the “Frequently contacted” list. This one is the case for the iPhone. But with Android, that contact will appear in the “Other contacts” section. Also, note that it’ll move to the “Recent chats” section when you exit the group chat, the same for Android and iPhone.

Pick the method you prefer from the above to complete the task.

Here’s how to delete “Recent chats” on WhatsApp:

Removing the contact conversation removes it from the “Recent chats.” This one is the case for the iPhone. But with Android, that contact will appear in the “Other contacts” section.

Exiting the group and deleting the chat removes it from the “Recent chats” section, which is the case for Android and iPhones.
