How to Hide Likes Count on Facebook or Instagram
In this post, you’ll see the steps to hide others or your Facebook posts likes count.
Also, you’ll see the steps to hide your likes on Facebook and find who liked your FB page.
Here, you’ll also see the steps to hide the number of likes on Instagram posts of yours and others. Note that you can’t hide likes on Instagram Reels. Let’s start.
Hide Likes Count from Facebook Posts
On PC, sign in to your Facebook account and click on the profile picture at the top right. On Android or iPhone, open the Facebook app and hit the “Menu.”
Select Settings & privacy > Settings.
On PC, hit “Privacy” in the left sidebar. On iPhone or Android, you may see “Profile settings.” Tap it.
Hit “Reaction Preferences.”
Turn on the toggle switch next to “On your posts” to hide the likes count for your posts.
Remember that this will only hide the likes count of the posts you shared on your profile.
Turn on the toggle switch beside “On posts from others” to hide the likes count for others posts.
Please note that this will hide the likes count of posts shared by others to News Feed, groups, and pages. You can still see posts likes count in Marketplace and reels. It’s worth noting that your reaction to the post will still be visible to you and others.
Note: If you wish to see others or your posts likes count, disable the corresponding switch.
Hide Your Facebook Likes on PC
You can hide if you don’t want others to see your Facebook likes, and here’s how you can do it on a PC:
Visit your Facebook profile. Click “More” and “Likes.”
Click on the button with three horizontal dots beside “Likes.”
Select “Edit the Privacy of Your Likes.”
Click the icon next to the category for which you want to set privacy. You can see these four options:
- Public – This is the default. This one lets anyone see your likes.
- Friends – Only friends can see it.
- Only me – You can see it, and no one else can.
- Custom – This is for allowing and denying specific lists and friends to see it.
You can choose whichever one you prefer. Select “Only me” if you don’t want anyone else to see it.
Click on “Save,” and that’s it. You can do the above for all the categories you wish.
Alternate Method
The “Likes” section will be hidden if you follow this method.
However, the likes can still be viewed by entering the likes section URL in the address bar.
Facebook.com/techtraj/likes, for instance, can show my likes even after hiding the “Likes” section.
Here are the steps:
Follow the steps above, and hit the “Hide Section.” That’s it.
If you want the “Likes” section back, follow the above steps and hit “Manage sections.”
Select “Likes” from the pop-up and the “Save” button.

See Who Liked Your Facebook Page
You can see the page’s likes and followers count beneath its name. This applies to the PC and iPhone.
Let’s see who liked your page.
PC
Log in to your Facebook account.
Hit “Pages” on the left sidebar and click on your page on the left sidebar.
Click on the profile picture at the top right and click “See all profiles.” Select your page.
Click “Followers,” and you can see the page followers. To see who liked your page, hit the “Likes.”
Alternatively, you can click on the number of likes beneath the page name to see the people who liked your FB page. Click on the number of followers to see them.

iPhone
Open the Facebook app and tap the “Menu.”
Tap the “Down arrow” at the top and select your page.
Tap “Menu” and hit your Facebook page.
Tap the followers count, and you can see your page followers.
Navigate to “Likes” to see who liked your FB page. The “Following” tab shows you whom your page is following.
Hide Likes Count on Your Posts on Instagram
Let’s see the steps to hide the likes count for your new or existing posts on Android, PC, or iPhone.
For a New Post
Hit on “Advanced settings” when creating a new post. You can find it on the last page.
Turn on “Hide like and view counts on this post.”
On Android or iPhone, hit the “Back arrow” at the top, and that’s all.
Note that you can’t set “hiding” as the default for all new Instagram posts.
For an Existing Post
Go to your Instagram profile.
Locate and hit the desired post.
On an iPhone or PC, tap the three horizontal dots at the top right. On Android, hit the three vertical dots in the top right.
Hit “Hide Like Count.”
That’s it. Remember that you can still see the like count of your post.
Follow the steps above to unhide the like count, and you’ll see the “Unhide Like Count” option. Hit it.

Hide Number of Likes in Others Instagram Posts
Note that after following the below steps, you can still see who liked the others posts.
Here’s how: Under the post, you’ll see “Liked by X and others,” where X is the name. Hit it to see who liked the post.
Let’s see the steps to do the task.
PC
In the Instagram desktop version or app, hit the three horizontal lines at the bottom left.
Select Settings > Privacy and security.
Find “Hide likes” and turn it on.
That’s all. You can view the number of likes by turning off the above option.
Android or iPhone
In the Instagram app, tap your profile picture at the bottom.
Hit the three horizontal lines at the top right and then “Settings.”
Hit Privacy > Posts. Enable “Hide likes.”
That’s it. By disabling the “Hide Likes,” you can view the likes count.
