The “Most used” section of the Start menu shows the six most used programs. If you do not want this section in the Start menu, then you can hide it.
You can do this task in two ways. Pick the one you like.
Press Windows + I to open Settings.
Click on Start in the left sidebar.
Turn off “Show most used apps.” You can find this one between Show recently added apps and Show suggestions occasionally in Start.
Note that you can turn it on and all you need to do is turn on “Show most used apps.”
Type gpedit.msc in the Run Box and then hit the Enter key.
If you want to hide the Most used section for all users, then navigate to:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar.
If you want to hide the Most used section for the current user, then navigate to:
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar.
I am doing this for all users here, but the steps are the same for the current user.
Double-click on “Remove frequent programs list from the Start Menu.”
Select Enabled and click OK.
Restart the computer.
Note: You can view the Most used section by following the steps above and selecting Not Configured and Disabled.
If you want to hide a particular item in the Most used section, then follow these steps:
Right-click on the item you want to hide in the Most used area.
Hover the mouse over “More.”
Now, click on “Don’t show in this list.”
Stop Windows 10 from Tracking Your Most Used Apps
Open the Settings app.
Now you can see “Let Windows track app launches to improve Start and search results.” Please disable it.
That’s all. There is no more tracking, and you can also see that the “Show most used apps” is grayed out.
