How to Hide the Search Button from the Windows 11 Taskbar

In the Windows 11 taskbar, the search button is displayed by default.

If you wish, you can hide it. Let’s see how to do this.

Launch taskbar settings. You can do this by right-clicking on the blank area of the taskbar and then hitting the Taskbar settings.

On the right, above the Task view, you can see “Search.” Turn it off.

That’s it.

To show it, you need to turn on “Search.”

Here’s an alternate method:

Launch Registry Editor.

Before continuing, I recommend making a backup of the Registry.

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Search.

Double-click on the SearchboxTaskbarMode in the right pane.

Now enter any of the following numbers in the Value data field as per your preference:

0 – hide search button

1 – display search button

Hit the OK button.

That’s all.

Note: You can also unpin this button from the taskbar if you wish.
