In this post, you’ll see the three different methods to do this task. Pick the one you want.
I’m using Windows 11 PC here. Let’s start.
How to Hide or Show the Home Button on Microsoft Edge
Here are the steps:
Hit the three horizontal points at the top right.
Click on “Settings” on the menu.
Click on “Appearance” on the left sidebar.
There will be a button next to the “Home button.” Disable (to hide) or enable (to show) it.
Once you have enabled it, you will see the “Home” button on the Edge toolbar.
If you click the “Home” button, Edge will take you to your homepage, and Edge has set the “New tab page” as your homepage by default.
If you want to set up a web page as your homepage, use the “Set button URL” button.
How to Show Microsoft Edge Home Button using Local Group Policy Editor
To display it, follow these steps:
Launch local group policy editor.
Navigate to the Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Edge > Startup, home page and new tab page.
Then double-click the “Show home button on toolbar” in the right pane.
Hit the OK button.
Note: Follow the steps above but choose Disabled to hide the home button. For default, choose Not Configured.
How to Hide Microsoft Edge Home Button using Registry Editor
To hide it, follow these steps:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Edge.
If you don’t see the Edge key mentioned above, you need to create it, and here’s how: Right-click on the Microsoft key and select New > Key. Type Edge and then press the Enter key.
Right-click on the blank space in the right pane.
Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Type ShowHomeButton and then hit the Enter key.
Note: To display, provide 1 in the Value data field of the DWORD. For the default, delete the DWORD you created earlier.
I hope this guide, “How to Hide or Show the Home Button on Edge,” is helpful to you.
