How to Enable or Disable Mouse Keys in Windows 10

With the Mouse Keys feature, you can control the mouse with the numeric keypad.

To enable or disable it on Windows 10, follow these steps:

Launch the Settings app.

Click on “Ease of Access.”

Click on “Mouse” on the left sidebar.

In the “Control your mouse with a keypad” section, you will see a toggle switch. Enable (to enable) or disable (to disable) it.

Once you have enabled Mouse Keys, you will see the following options:

  • Only use Mouse Keys when Num Lock is on – Makes Mouse Keys work only when Num Lock is on or off.
  • Show the Mouse Keys icon on the taskbar – Show or hide the Mouse Keys icon in the notification area.
  • Hold the Ctrl key to speed up and the Shift key to slow down – If you enable this option, pressing the Ctrl key while moving the pointer increases speed and decrease is the Shift button case.

Play around with the Pointer speed and Pointer acceleration if you like.

Press left Alt, left Shift, and Num Lock simultaneously.

The Mouse Keys pop-up now appears.

The Mouse Keys will be activated when you click “Yes” on the pop-up.

If you press “No”, the Mouse Keys will be disabled.

Start Control Panel.

Click on the “Ease of Access Center” link.

Click on the “Make the mouse easier to use” link.

Enable (to turn on) or disable (to turn off) Turn on the Mouse Keys option.

Press the OK button below.

How to Enable or Disable Keyboard Shortcut of Mouse Keys

Open the Run Command.

Type control and then press Enter. You can now see the Control Panel.

Click on the “Ease of Access Center” link.

Click on the “Make the mouse easier to use” link.

Click on the Set up Mouse Keys link in the “Control the mouse with the keyboard” section.

Enable (to enable keyboard shortcut) or disable (to disable keyboard shortcut) “Turn on Mouse Keys with left Alt + left Shift + Num Lock” option in the “Keyboard shortcut” section.
