To enable mouse pointer trails, follow these steps:
Navigate to the “Pointer Options” tab.
In the “Visibility” section, you will find the “Display pointer trails” option. Select it.
There is a slider underneath it, which you can use to adjust the length of the pointer trails.
Hit the “OK” button at the bottom.
Please note: Unselect the option above and click “OK” at the bottom to disable it.
Alternate Method
Start Registry Editor. Before proceeding, I suggest you back up the Registry.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > Mouse.
Double-click MouseTrails in the right pane.
Enter 0 (to disable) or 7 (to enable) in the Value data field.
Click the OK button.
Sign out and then sign back in.
That’s it.
