In this post, you’ll see:
Here, I’m using Windows 11. Let’s start.
How to Open Multiple Folders at Once
Here, you’ll see the steps to open multiple folders in single or multiple places at once. Let’s look at the former first.
Select the folders you wish to open, then press Ctrl, Shift, and Enter simultaneously to see all selected folders opened at once in separate windows.
Here’s another option for opening multiple folders at once:
Select the folders you want to open. Right-click on it. Click “Open in new window” in the context menu.
Or, you can select the folders and then press Ctrl + Enter.
Select the folders you want to open and press the “Enter” key.
Here’s the difference between the above method and this one:
You can open all selected folders simultaneously in separate windows using the above method. The window in which you perform this operation remains intact.
This method will open one selected folder in the current window and the other selected folders in their windows.
Here’s another way: Select the folders you want to open, right-click on them, and select “Open” from the context menu.
How to Open Multiple Folders in Different Places at the Same Time
All the above methods apply to folders in the same place.
Here are the steps you can follow to open folders at the same time from different locations:
Open Notepad and enter start, followed by the path to the folder you wish to open. Make sure the path doesn’t contain any quotation marks.
Repeat this step for all the folders you want to open. Your Notepad will now look like this:
Save it with the desired name, but ensure that the extension is the bat. In our case, the file name is openmfolder.bat.
That’s it. Double-click on the file (in our case, openmfolder.bat), and you’ll see the folders open.

Or, you can right-click the folder you want to open and choose “Open in new window” from the context menu.

How Do I Open Each Folder in a New or the Same Window?
If you want each folder to open in a new window, follow these steps:
In File Explorer Options, look for “Open each folder in its own window” under “Browse folders.” Select this option.
Click the “OK” button at the bottom.
If you prefer the same window, proceed as follows:

Choose the option “Open each folder in the same window” in the “Browse folders” section at the top, and then click “OK” at the bottom.
