How to Open Sound Settings in Windows 10

The steps in this guide will show you how to create a shortcut for sound settings and different ways to access them.

The sound settings in Windows 10 can be accessed in one of the following ways:

Method #1 – Press Windows+I to launch Settings. Click “System.” Click “Sound” on the left sidebar.

Method #2 – Click on the Start menu and type sound. Select “Sound settings” from the search results.

Method #3 – Open Run by pressing Windows + R. Type ms-settings:sound and press the “Enter” key.

You can also use the above command in the following programs: Task Manager (Hit File > Run new task option to use the command), address toolbar, and address bar of the File Explorer.

You can also start sound settings using the command start ms-settings:sound in Command Prompt or PowerShell.

Method #4 – Right-click on the “Volume” icon on the taskbar and select “Open Sound Settings”.

How to Create Sound Settings Shortcut in Windows 10

Create a shortcut to sound settings on your Windows 10 desktop or File Explorer by following these steps:

Right-click on the blank area of the desktop or in File Explorer.

In the context menu, select “New” and press “Shortcut.”

In the Create Shortcut window, enter ms-settings:sound.

Click on the “Next” button.

Enter the name of the shortcut if you do not like the suggested one.

Click the “Finish” button.
