How to Open This PC Instead of Quick Access

By default, Windows 11 File Explorer opens Quick access.

If you want File Explorer to open This PC instead of Quick access, follow the steps below:

Open the File Explorer Options. You can complete this task by following these steps: Open Run by pressing Windows + R. Type control folders and then press the Enter key.

Open the drop-down list next to “Open File Explorer to.”

Select “This PC.”

Press the OK button below.

That’s all.

Now, launch File Explorer by pressing Windows + E and you will find This PC instead of Quick access.

Note: If you prefer the default setting, select “Quick access” from the above-mentioned drop-down list, then click OK at the bottom.

Here’s an alternate method:

Launch the Registry Editor.

Before proceeding, I recommend taking a backup of the Registry.

Go to the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > Advanced.

Locate LaunchTo in the right pane and double-click it.

In the Value data field, provide 1 (For This PC) or 2 (For Quick access).

Hit the OK button.

That’s all.
