How to Pin or Unpin on Facebook or Instagram

Pin or Unpin a Post on Facebook
Note that:
- You can pin a post to a Facebook page, group, or profile to get maximum attention.
- A pinned post is a post you’ve pinned.
- You can only pin one post on your Facebook (FB) profile. FB will replace the existing one if you’re pinning a post while there is an already pinned post.
- What happens when you pin a post on Facebook? The pinned post will remain at the top of the page until you unpin or remove it.
- Only the admin or editor can pin or unpin a post on the Facebook page.
- Only admins or moderators can pin or unpin on the Facebook group.

Steps
The following steps apply to PC (FB desktop version), iPhone, and Android.
Follow these steps to pin or unpin a post on your Facebook profile:
In the Facebook or FB app, go to your profile.
Find the post you want and hit the three horizontal dots at its top right.
Hit “Pin post.”
To unpin, hit the three horizontal dots at the top right of the pinned post and tap “Unpin post.”
To pin or unpin a post on your Facebook page, follow these steps:
Go to your page and find the post you want to pin. Hit the three horizontal dots at the top right of the post. Select “Pin post,” and you’ll find it in the “Featured” section.
If you want to unpin a pinned post, find it and hit the three horizontal dots on its top right. Select “Unpin post.”
Here’s an alternate way to do this task: In the “Featured” section, you can see “Manage.” Hit it. Hit the three horizontal dots in the post you want and “Unpin.”

Here’s how to pin or unpin a post on the Facebook group:
Go to your group and find the post you want. Hit the three horizontal dots on its top right.
Select “Pin to Featured,” and you’ll find the post in the “Featured” section.
If you have more than one post in the “Featured” section and want to bring the recently pinned to the top of this section, long-press the same, and you can see “Pin to top.” Hit it, and that’s all.
Note that if you pin a post to the “Featured,” when there is a post already pinned to the top of this section, the newly pinned post will take the top.
Here are the steps to unpin: Hit the three horizontal dots on the top right of the pinned post in the “Featured” section. Hit “Unpin.”
Alternatively, find the same post in the posts section and hit the three horizontal dots. Hit “Unpin from Featured.”

Pin a Post or Reel on Your Instagram Profile Grid
On Instagram, you can pin up to 3 posts or reels, and you can only pin yours.
The pinned posts or reels will remain at the top of the profile grid until unpinned. When unpinned, they will be in their original position.
Let’s see the steps to pin and unpin, and note that you can’t do both on PC (Instagram Desktop version).
Steps
To pin, go to your profile on the Instagram app.
Tap the post or reel which you want to pin.
Hit the three vertical dots (on Android) or three horizontal dots (on iPhone) at the top.
You can see the “Pin to your profile” option. Hit it, and that’s all.
Note that you can see the “Pin” symbol in the pinned post.
If you prefer to unpin a pinned post, follow the above steps and tap “Unpin from profile” (on Android) or “Unpin from your profile” (on iPhone).
Here’s an alternate method to pin that works only on iPhone: Long-press the post or reel, and you can see “Pin to profile.” Hit it.
To unpin, long-press the pinned one and hit “Unpin from profile.”
Pin Instagram Reels to Reels Tab
You can see the “Pin to your reels” option if you’ve used the above steps for a reel. This one pins the reel to the top of the reels tab. Hit it if that’s what you want.
To unpin it, use the above steps, and you can view “Unpin from your reels.” Hit it.
Here’s an alternate method to do this task:
Go to the reels tab and find the one you prefer.
Long-press it on your iPhone. Or you can tap it on your Android device or iPhone, tap the three vertical (or horizontal) dots at the bottom, and select “Manage.”
Hit “Pin to your reels.”
That’s all. To unpin, follow the above steps and hit “Unpin from your reels.”
