If you right-click on the image file in Windows 11 and hit Show more options, you can see the Create a new video option in the context menu.
You can remove it if you do not want it. Let’s see how. I use Windows 11 here.
Remove Create a New Video Option using Registry Editor
Here are the steps:
Open Registry Editor. I suggest you take a backup of the Registry before proceeding.
Go to the following keys: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > AppX43hnxtbyyps62jhe9sqpdzxn1790zetc > Shell > ShellCreateVideo.
Right-click on the blank space in the right pane.
Select New > String Value.
Provide the name as ProgrammaticAccessOnly and press the Enter key.
That’s all. Now, right-click on the image file, select Show more options, and you won’t see the Create a new video option in the context menu.
Note: To add this option to the context menu, remove the String Value you created above.
Here’s an alternate method to do this task:
Set the Photos as the default image viewer if you want to add the Create a new video option to the context menu.
If you want to remove the Create a new video option from the context menu, set any app other than Photos as the default photo viewer.
I hope this guide, “How to Remove Create a New Video Option from the Context Menu,” is helpful to you.
