In this post, you’ll learn how to remove and disable extensions from Microsoft Edge.
You’ll also see how to remove Edge apps and enable or disable extensions for InPrivate browsing.
I’m using Windows 11 PC here. Let’s start.
How to Remove or Disable Microsoft Edge Extensions
Here are the steps:
At the top right, click the three horizontal dots—select Extensions > Manage Extensions. Or type edge://extensions in the address bar and press the Enter key.
You can now see the installed Edge extensions on the Extensions screen.
Deactivate the toggle switch to disable an extension. Activate the toggle switch to turn on the extension.
Hit the Remove button on the extension to uninstall it. In the popup, click Remove.
How to Remove Edge Apps
Type edge://apps in the Edge address bar and press the Enter key. Or click the three horizontal dots at the top right, move your mouse over Apps, and then click Manage apps.
You can now see the installed Edge apps on the Apps screen.
Remove the app by pressing X.
If you want to clear the data, select the checkbox—Select Remove from the popup.
How to Enable or Disable Extensions in InPrivate Browsing Mode
For InPrivate browsing, extensions are disabled by default.
If you prefer, you can enable it for InPrivate mode. Here are the steps:
Launch Edge browser.
Type edge://extensions in the address bar and then press the Enter key or click on the three horizontal dots in the top right corner and click Extensions > Manage Extensions.
You can now find the extensions. On the extension, you wish to activate, click on Details.
The “Allow in InPrivate” will be available. Please enable it.
Follow the steps above for all desired extensions.
Note: To disable extensions for InPrivate browsing mode, follow the steps above, but disable it instead of enabling it.
I hope this guide, “How to Remove Extensions on Microsoft Edge,” is helpful to you.
Thanks for reading.
