The People icon appears by default in the Windows 10 taskbar.
If you don’t want it there, you can remove it. Here’s how:
Hit Show People on the taskbar. You’ll find it between the Show Cortana button and the Cascade windows.
Note: You can revert by following the above steps.
Here are some alternative methods:
Launch taskbar settings.
Turn off Show contacts on the taskbar, which you’ll find in the People section.
Note: Turning it back on will reverse the changes.
Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar.
Double-click “Remove the People Bar from the taskbar” in the right pane.
Select Enabled and hit OK.
To revert, follow the steps above but select Not Configured or Disabled.
Open Registry Editor.
I suggest you take a Registry backup before proceeding.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > Advanced > People.
You can find PeopleBand in the right pane. Double-click it.
Provide 1 (to add) or 0 (to remove) in the Value data field.
Hit the OK button.
