How to Remove Pin to Quick Access from the Context Menu

If you right-click on a file, folder, or drive in Windows 11, you can see the Pin to Quick access option in the context menu.

Using this option, you can pin the item to Quick access. You can remove it if you don’t want it in the context menu. Let’s see how. I use Windows 11 here.

Remove Pin to Quick Access from the Context Menu

Here are the steps:

Open the Run by pressing Windows + R. Type regedit and press the Enter key. Hit Yes in the popup. You can now view the Registry Editor on your Windows 11 PC.

Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > AllFilesystemObjects > shell > pintohome.

Make a backup of the latter key before proceeding.

Right-click on the pintohome key and click on the “Delete” option.

Click the Yes button on the popup.

Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > Drive > shell > pintohome.

Make a backup of the latter key before proceeding.

Right-click on the pintohome key and click on the “Delete” option.

Click the Yes button on the popup.

That’s all. You can no longer see the Pin to Quick access in the context menu.

Note: To add the option back to the context menu, you need to restore the backups, which I’ve asked you to take in the steps above.

I hope this guide, “How to Remove Pin to Quick Access from the Context Menu,” is helpful to you.

Thanks for reading.
