If you right-click on a file, folder, or drive in Windows 11 and hit Show more options, you will see the Scan with Microsoft Defender option in the context menu.
You can remove it from the context menu if you don’t want it. Let’s see how.
Remove Scan with Microsoft Defender Option in Windows 11
Here are the steps:
Go to the following keys: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > CLSID > {09A47860-11B0-4DA5-AFA5-26D86198A780}.
Take a backup of the latter key before proceeding.
Right-click on the latter key.
Hit the Delete option.
Hit the Yes option in the confirmation popup.
That’s it. You don’t see the Scan with Microsoft Defender option anymore.
Note: To add the Scan with Microsoft Defender option to the context menu, you must restore the backup of the key.
