How to Rename a File or Folder in Windows 11

You can rename the file, folder, and drive in Windows 11. Let’s see the different ways to do that.

Rename File, Folder, and Drive using Icon and Option

Right-click the item for which you want to change the name.

You can now see the Rename icon. Hit it and provide the new name you want.

Open PowerShell.

Hit the Space bar key again, type -NewName, and type the new name you prefer. If it is a file you’re renaming, you need to provide a new name with an extension.
