How to Reset Notepad in Windows 10

Below you will find the steps for resetting Notepad in Windows 10.

Note that when resetting Notepad, all settings such as font, window size and position will be reset.

Let’s go through the steps.

Open the Registry Editor. The steps to perform this task are: Press Windows + R. Then type regedit into the Run box and hit Enter. Hit Yes in the pop-up window.

I suggest you make a backup of the Registry before proceeding.

Extend HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft.

Find the “Notepad” key.

Right-click on it and select “Delete”.

Tap “Yes” in the confirmation pop-up.

That’s it. Open the Notepad and you’ll see the change.
