(2022) How to View Network Usage and Reset Statistics in WhatsApp

This post will show how to view network usage and reset statistics on WhatsApp.

I use the app (Android phone and iPhone). Let’s start.

Note: You can’t do this task on the WhatsApp Web and Desktop app.

View Network Usage and Reset Statistics on WhatsApp (iPhone)

Open the WhatsApp app.

Hit Settings at the bottom.

Tap Storage and Data. Under the Network section, you will see Network Usage above “Use Less Data for Calls.”

Hit it, and you will see:

The Messages section has Sent, Received, Bytes Sent, and Bytes Received. As the section name shows, this is all about WhatsApp messages.

Chat Media section, which has Bytes Sent and Bytes Received. As the section name shows, this is all about the media of chats.

Status Media section, which has Bytes Sent and Bytes Received. As the section name shows, this is all about the media of the statuses.

The WhatsApp Calls section has Outgoing, Incoming, Bytes Sent, Bytes Received, and Total Time. As the section name shows, this is all about WhatsApp calls.

Total Bytes section, which has “Sent” and “Received.” As the section name shows, this is the total of all the above.

At the bottom, you will see the Reset Statistics option. Hit it if you want to reset all the above. In the pop-up, hit Reset Statistics.

Beneath this option, you can see when the last reset happened.

That’s it.

View Network Usage and Reset Statistics on WhatsApp (Android Phone)

Here are the steps:

Launch the WhatsApp Messenger app.

Select the three vertical dots in the top right corner.

Hit Settings > Storage and data.

Tap “Network usage” between “Manage storage” and “Use less data for calls.”

You can now see the “Total usage” at the top with the “Sent” and “Received” beneath it.

Below, you can view Calls, Media, Google Drive, Messages, Status, and Roaming.

Besides each one of them, you can view the sent and received.

You can see how much you have sent and received beneath the Messages and Status. You can also view the number of incoming and outgoing beneath the Calls.

At the bottom, you will see the Reset Statistics option. Hit it if you want to reset all the above. You can see this message in the pop-up: Reset network usage statistics?

Hit Reset.

Beneath this option, you can see when the last reset happened.
