Imagine having two folders open on your PC – Documents and Downloads – and you shut down, restart, or log off from your computer when both folders are open.
By default, you’ll only see the desktop next time you log in.
If you want the opened folders to be automatically opened the next time you log in to your computer (in our example, they are Documents and Downloads), follow these instructions (in this case, I am using a Windows 11 computer).
Go to the View tab.
Select the option “Restore previous folder windows at logon.” You can find this one between “Launch folder windows in a separate process” and “Show drive letters.”
Click the “OK” button at the bottom.
The restored previous folder windows will now show up when you log into your PC.
Note: You can return to the default settings by unchecking the above option and clicking the “OK” button.
