How to Hide or Show Status Bar in File Explorer

By default, you will see the status bar in Windows 10 File Explorer.

If you want to hide it, follow these steps:

Launch the File Explorer Options. These steps will help you complete this task: Press Windows + R and type control folders. Then, press Enter.

Click on the View tab.

Unselect the “Show status bar” option between “Show preview handlers in preview pane” and “Show sync provider notifications.”

Click on the “OK” button at the bottom.

Note:

To view the status bar, follow the steps above and instead of unselecting it, check.

Here’s an alternate method:

Launch the Registry Editor.

Before proceeding, I recommend taking a backup of the Registry.

Go to the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > Advanced.

Locate ShowStatusBar in the right pane and double-click it.

In the Value data field, provide 0 (to hide) or 1 (to show).

Hit the OK button.

That’s all.
