How to Fix WhatsApp Calls Not Ringing Issue

If you have the WhatsApp calls not ringing issue, try the following solutions until the problem is fixed.

I use Google Pixel 4a (Android 12) and iPhone X. Let’s start.

Fix WhatsApp Calls Not Ringing Issue

Solution 1

Make sure your device is not silent.

If that’s not the case, check the device volume. Increase it if it is low.

Solution 2

Make sure Do Not Disturb (DND) is turned off.

Solution 3

Make sure the WhatsApp app you have is the latest version. If that’s not the case, update the app.

Solution 4

If you’re using an Android phone, follow these steps:

Open the Settings app and hit Apps. Select See all X apps (X is a number).

Hit WhatsApp > Notifications.

Ensure that the first toggle switch and the “Call notifications” are enabled.

If you’re using an iPhone, follow these steps:

Launch the Settings app. Hit WhatsApp > Notifications.

Make sure the “Allow Notifications” is enabled.

Ensure the Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners are selected and “Sounds” is enabled.

That’s it.

Enable the Background data and Unrestricted data usage on your Android device, and here are the steps:

Open the Settings app. Hit Apps > See all X apps (X is a number).

Hit WhatsApp.

Select Mobile data & Wi-Fi. Ensure “Background data” and “Unrestricted data usage” are enabled.

That’s all.

If you’re using an iPhone, follow these steps:

Open the Settings app and select Battery. Turn off Low Power Mode.

If you’re using an Android device, follow these steps:

Open the Settings app, and select Battery > Battery Saver.

Turn off Use Battery Saver.

That’s it.

Solution 8 (Android only)

Clear WhatsApp cache on your Android phone, and here’s how:

Open the Settings app and hit Apps.

Select “See all X apps.” X is a number.

Find WhatsApp and hit it. You’re in the App info screen of WhatsApp now.

Select “Storage & cache.” You can now see this button:

Clear Cache: Hit this one to delete the cache of the WhatsApp app.

That’s it.

Solution 9

Reset the network settings on your device.

Solution 10

Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. I suggest a backup before proceeding with this.

That’s it.
