(2022) How to Change Font Size in WhatsApp

Written by Thirumalraj

In this post, you’ll see how to change font size in WhatsApp. Keep in mind that the font size change only applies to you.

I use the app (iPhone and Android), Desktop, and Web. Let’s start.

Change Font Size in WhatsApp Web or Desktop

Note: On the WhatsApp Desktop app, you can enlarge or reduce the font size by changing the text size of the PC.

On WhatsApp Web, you can change the font size by using the “Zoom” option in the browser. I’m using the Chrome browser here.

Press the Ctrl key and scroll the mouse wheel down to bigger the font size.

Press the Ctrl key and scroll the mouse wheel up to smaller the font size.

Here’s an alternate method:

Open WhatsApp Web.

Click the three vertical dots at the top right.

Besides Zoom, you can see + and -. The former increases the font size, and the latter decreases it. Use the one you prefer.

Change Font Size in WhatsApp (iPhone)

WhatsApp for iPhone cannot change the font size like WhatsApp for Android.

But you can change the WhatsApp font size by changing the text size of the iPhone.

Here’s how you can do that:

Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap Display & Brightness.

Find and hit Text Size.

Now you can see a slider at the bottom. Sliding it to the left decreases text size, and sliding it to the right increase the text size.

Use it per your wish and open the WhatsApp app to see the change.

Change WhatsApp Font Size on Android Phone

Here are the steps:

  1. Launch the WhatsApp Messenger app and tap the three vertical dots at the top right.
  2. Select “Settings.” Tap “Chats” between “Account” and “Notifications.”
  3. Select “Font size” between “Media visibility” and “Keep chats archived.”
  4. You’ll see these three options in the popup – Small, Medium, and Large.
  5. Choose the one you want.

That’s all—the font size changes on the chat screen for contacts and groups.

Note: WhatsApp doesn’t have the option to change the font and color.

That’s all.

Thanks for reading.
