How to Fix WhatsApp Not Working on iPhone

If the WhatsApp app on your iPhone is not working, this guide is for you.

Try the below solutions until the issue is fixed. I use an iPhone X. Let’s start.

Solution 1

Check your internet connection.

Solution 2

Check the WhatsApp server status. If there is no issue with that, try the other solutions in this post.

Solution 3

Make sure the WhatsApp app you have is the latest version. If that’s not the case, update the app.

Solution 4

Reboot your iPhone.

Here’s how:

Open the Settings app and select “General.”

Scroll down to the bottom, and you can see the Shut Down. Hit it.

Slide the Power icon to the right, and your device will shut down.

Now press the “Power” button until your iPhone turn on.

Solution 5

Swipe up a little from the bottom, and you can see the WhatsApp app now.

Swipe it up to close it. Open the WhatsApp Messenger app.

Solution 6

Enable the airplane mode, and here’s how:

From the top right, slide down, and see many icons now.

Hit the one with the airplane.

Disable the airplane mode now by hitting the icon mentioned above.

That’s it.

Here’s an alternate method to do the above tasks:

Open the Settings app to see the toggle switch beside the Airplane Mode.

Solution 7

Please turn off the Wi-Fi and turn it on. Here’s how:

From the top right, slide down, and see many icons now.

Hit the one with the signal. You can find this one beneath the airplane icon.

Hit the icon mentioned above to turn on Wi-Fi.

That’s it.

You can also do the above tasks with these steps:

Open the Settings app and select Wi-Fi.

Please turn off the toggle switch at the top and turn it on.

Solution 8

Reset network settings on your device. Here’s how you can do this:

Launch the Settings app and tap “General.”

Select Transfer or Reset iPhone and hit Reset.

From the options, tap Reset Network Settings.

Provide your passcode and hit Reset Network Settings in the popup.

Solution 9

Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. I suggest a backup before proceeding with this.
